THE ETERNAL GOD IS NEVER WITHOUT WORDS
“In the past GOD SPOKE to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways. In these last days HE HAS SPOKEN TO US BY HIS SON, whom he appointed heir of all things and through Whom He made the universe The Son is the radiance of God’s glory, and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by HIS POWERFUL WORD. After He provided purification for our sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.” (Hebrews 1:1-3)
HE SPEAKS THROUGH HIS WRITTEN WORD: “ALL SCRIPTURE is given by inspiration of God, and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” “THE HOLY SCRIPTURES are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.” (2 Timothy 3:16, 17; 3:15b)

FOOLISH MAN’S ATTEMPTS TO SILENCE GOD
In the Old Testament, King Jehoiakim ordered the scroll (on which Jeremiah had written the warnings from God) brought to him and read. As each few columns were read, he cut them off and threw them into the fire. God had Jeremiah rewrite the scroll and add MORE WORDS OF JUDGMENT to come on the king and his family. (Jeremiah 36)
In our day, foolish unbelievers are forbidding the TEN COMMANDMENTS OF GOD to be read in schools or public places; hiding them from sight; and punishing them who display or proclaim them. They are fitting themselves right into Romans 1:18: “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the ungodliness and wickedness of men who suppress THE TRUTH by their wickedness.” Jesus said in John 12:48, “There is a judge for the one who rejects Me and does not accept MY WORDS; THAT VERY WORD WHICH I SPOKE will condemn him at the last day.”

GOD SPEAKS WORDS THAT MAN CAN NEITHER REACH, HIDE, NOR DESTROY
“Since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world, God’s invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.” (Romans 1:20)
“The heavens declare the glory of God, the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech, night after night they display knowledge; there is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the end of the world.” (Psalm 19:1-4)
“At one time we, too, were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, Whom He poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by His grace, we might become heirs, having the hope of eternal life. This is a faithful saying. (Titus 3:3-8)

THINGS THAT ONLY OUR LIVING, ETERNAL GOD CAN DO:
Make a tree: “I think that I shall never see a poem as lovely as a tree. A tree that looks at God all day, and lifts its leafy arms to pray … Poems are made by fools like me, but only God can make a tree.” (Joyce Kilmer)
Make a winter wonderland: On the morning of December 5th, we woke to see the whole camp—trees, shrubs, cars, buildings—blanketed with beautiful white snow. A gorgeous winter wonderland! All done by Almighty God in the night hours.
Make a change in human hearts: “Come now, let us reason together,” says the Lord. “Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” (Isaiah 1:18)
Have you reasoned with Him?

THE DIRECTOR’S CORNER
Our Awana clubs are set to resume January 5th after a three week break. The kids seem eager for the regular schedule (as are the parents). The study of God’s truth with them does bring a sense of peace and serenity in many of their young lives, and we’re grateful for the willing staff and volunteers who take this opportunity seriously.
“Freely you have received, freely give,” Jesus told the 12 apostles as he sent them out to preach and heal. I want this to be our lifestyle here at BWC in 2004. Time, energy, truth, power, things, life—all we have is from Him, and not meant to be hoarded.
The improvements around Camp this past year (a big garage, a pavilion, a pump house, many repairs), all given through God’s generous people, are reminders to use every aspect of this facility for God’s kingdom.

BWC CHRISTMAS PROGRAM
December 21, 2003
“MEET ME AT THE MANGER”
“Meet Me At The Manger” is a musical that teaches about the gifts of the wise men. As the children begin singing in Herod’s Department Store, they are quickly forced to leave by the store’s owner, Mr. Herod, as he claims they are distracting his customers. The kindly sales associate, Miss O’Riley, escorts them to the Lighthouse Mission to be a part of their Christmas party. Through a series of events, and other characters such as Miss Ellie, who runs the mission, and Emerald, the cook at the mission, they learn that what God would really like from each of us is a heart of gold, that our prayer and praise to God is like sweet incense to Him, and that laying down our wants and choosing instead to live for Jesus brings God great delight. Wise men still follow Him today!
