WE ARE LOSING THE WAR

Because we don't know who our enemy is. "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." (Ephesians 6:10-12) So there you have it!
Our warfare is not a physical battle with armies we can see. Our battles are spiritual ones with Satan, his demons, and all the humans who are on the devil's side. When Jesus was on earth He said to some of His enemies, "You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies." Then He said, "He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God." (John 8:44, 47) Satan works through himself, the world, and our flesh: three enemies.

HENCE THE NEED FOR SPIRITUAL ARMOR!

"Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist (in Roman armor, the belt held the rest of the armor in place), with the breastplate of righteousness in place (covering your heart), and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith (without faith you cannot please God), with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation (faith in Jesus), and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints." (Ephesians 6:13-18)

Have you noticed that Satan is using mortal man to try and take away two of our weapons? Don't let the enemy rob you of the Word of God and prayer.

THE DIRECTOR'S CORNER


For most of us, the beginning of a new year requires a sort of "self-launching" to get back into midstream after the holidays. It's great if corrections can be introduced at this time, but just having renewed energy is good.
We launched the first Bible club of the year last night--not as many as usual because school hadn't started yet--but they seemed happy to be back at "Camp."
We have a new facility that we can use now on club nights. Back in October we told you about an addition to our gym building that was started. Well, our stage/game room is finished. It seemed it would be a real stretch financially to even think it would get done any time soon, but between memorial gifts and your generosity, our year ended in the black and the stage was ready for the children's Christmas program. I must give credit to Mark Williams' and Dave Robert's driving force in rounding up volunteers and the many hours they all spent in doing the work. It was a risk to start it, but we praise God for providing this new encouragement in our ministry.
Please pray that we will all be able to focus on what really matters to God and His kingdom this year.
