THE BLESSED MAN—PSALM 1

"Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners, or sit in the seat of the mockers. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on His law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by the rivers of waters which yields its fruit in season, and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers."

"NOT SO THE WICKED!"

"They are like the chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore, the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the Lord watches over the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish."

"HOW SHALL A YOUNG MAN KEEP HIS WAY PURE?" Psalm 119:9

"By living according to Your Word." "Blessed are they whose way is blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord. Blessed are they who keep His statutes, and seek Him with all their heart." (Psalm 119:1, 2) "I have hidden Your Word in my heart that I might not sin against You." (Psalm 119:11)

QUESTION:

If it takes obedience to God's Word to make people righteous in God's sight, and of good stalwart character, what kind of people does a nation produce if that nation prohibits God's Word and the name of Jesus to be read, heard, preached, or seen by its people?

GOD'S INSPIRED ANSWER WAS WRITTEN EONS AGO

"Now the Spirit speaks expressly that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils." (1 Timothy 4:1) The result: (our daily news prewritten): "But mark this: there will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them." (2 Timothy 3:1-7)

SEEING, HEARING AND BELIEVING

Jesus, talking to Nicodemus, said, "Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone that believes in Him may have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son." John, who wrote this, tells us why he did in John 20:31: "These are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing, you may have life in His name."
The devil, his demons, and his cohorts work hard to keep the Holy Scriptures and Jesus’ name from being heard, read, or preached lest those who hear may believe and be saved. Foil their purpose by believing that the blood of Jesus Christ, God's Son, cleanses us from all sin and makes us fit for heaven.

THE DIRECTOR'S CORNER
Some highlight events of the past month include the following. We had some graduates among our Sunday School children (9 from 8th grade, 1 from High School). Remember them this fall as they face new schools and expectations. The ladies’ luncheon offered good spiritual fellowship and crafts. The men’s breakfast and work day allowed us to get some needed insulation in the chapel attic and work on the playground. During this past year our college student volunteers raised money to benefit our clubbers—which resulted in a sturdy new merry-go-round and a lot of other sports equipment. Thank you, Lindsey and friends.
Things are coming together for our summer camps that start June 15. Along with our main objective of focusing on God’s standard of living, we hope to have a good mix of new experiences and old favorites. Thanks in advance to all who will be coming to make this a memorable time for the children and all who will be in prayer for us.

Women's Spring Luncheon May 17

"...make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love." 2 Peter 1:5-7.

Mark, Caleb, and Grant put the finishing touches on the merry-go-round. Ernie, Mark, and Cecil send blown insulation up to the chapel attic on Men's Work Day.

Thank you for praying with us. Please use the summer camp schedule as a prayer reminder asking God to draw the campers to saving faith and to help those who already know Him to seriously decide to follow Jesus. Pray particularly that all those who qualified will be able to actually come to camp.
