THE MAKING OF FOOLS AND THE SOVEREIGN LORD’S EDICTS
The fool says in his heart, “There is no god!”
They are corrupt and their ways are vile; there is no one who does good.” Psalm 14:1, 53:1
CLAIMING TO BE WISE
“For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him nor gave thanks to Him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore, God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.” Romans 1:21-25
THE PARABLE OF THE RICH FOOL
The Lord Jesus told a story: The ground of a certain rich man produced a good crop. He thought to himself, “What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.” Then he said, “This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy, eat, and drink, and be merry.” But God said to him, “You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?” This is how it will be with anyone who stores up things for himself and is not rich toward God. (Luke 12:16-21)
DON’T BE THE DEVIL’S FOOL
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins and become a child of the living God forever.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.” John 3:16-18
LIVE WISELY
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Serve the Lord with gladness.
Come before Him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God.
It is He who made us, and we are His. We are His people, the sheep of His pasture.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise.
Give thanks to Him and praise His name.
For the Lord is good and His love endures forever;
His faithfulness continues through all generations.
Psalm 100

THE DIRECTOR'S CORNER
We sometimes wonder in our ministry here at the Camp, just how much influence in a child’s life does two hours a week in club give? It probably wouldn’t seem significant when viewed alongside the huge current of the media, entertainment, and neighborhood influences. But we need to remember we are steadily exposing, to those who come, the powerful, convicting counter-current found in the Bible—the answers to our past, future, and present life’s questions. And when brought to the kids by adult volunteers who love God and love kids, the significance is multiplied.
Some of our clubbers also come to Sunday School and Church here at Camp—another small time slot, but potentially rich in influence. I noticed last Sunday one young boy had verbal contact with at least a dozen different men and women in the congregation. It takes God’s Revelation and His people to raise a child for His Kingdom.
May God help us all to be faithful.
