DOES GOD CARE HOW HIS PEOPLE DRESS?
"The parts of the body that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty." (I Corinthians 12:23) "I also want women to dress modestly with decency and propriety." (I Timothy 2:9) Why this command? "Man looks on the outward appearance." (I Samuel 16:7c) Jesus said in Matthew 5:28, "If a man looks lustfully at a woman, he has already committed adultery in his heart." Even Christian men and boys can be tempted to evil thoughts by their eyes. Christian women should obey God about modesty, and we should teach our daughters, granddaughters, even our toddlers to dress and be dressed modestly. The media informs us that thousands of sexual offenders are roaming abroad, and sad to say, are also in homes, schools, and churches. Satan is going about in human flesh seeking whom he may devour because he knows his time is short. (I Peter 5:8) We should obey God because we love Him, and also protect ourselves from harm as far as it depends on us.

GOD LOOKS ON THE HEART
"So put to death whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator." (Colossians 3:5-10)

CHRISTIAN ATTIRE
"As God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive, as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom; and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him." (Colossians 3:12-17)

DRESS DAILY FOR BATTLE
"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against rulers, authorities and powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Therefore, put on the whole armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled about your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. Take the shield of faith to extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions, with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints." (Ephesians 6:10-18)

ARE YOU DRESSED AND READY?

THE DIRECTOR'S CORNER
We've been getting some calls about our club program, some from families recently moved into the community and others with new kindergarteners, wondering when clubs start, how it works, and how to get picked up. Since we really don't advertise, we are pleased to know that kids who attend are talking about it and inviting others.
After-school Bible clubs are our primary ministry here at the Camp and we are excited and concerned about launching into the fall Awana and Teen Club programs. Excited about renewing friendships and discovering God's Word, and concerned that we adapt to the changing, basic needs of the children and young people that come our way. We may need to step back from traditional assumptions and learn more about where they are. Pray with us that we will take opportunities during the year to individually listen to and talk to each child that comes.
We want to express our gratitude to all of you who helped during the summer months, filling in the "gaps" with projects, gifts, helping hands, and encouragement.

Work Groups

Immanuel
The Women's Ministry of Immanuel Baptist Church opened up its June workday to their congregation. A hard-working,
cross-generational group cleaned and repaired cabins and trimmed low tree branches in that area, helping us to get ready for camps.
