FAITH
"Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him." Hebrews 11:6
WHAT IS IT?
"Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." Hebrews 11:1
HOW DO WE GET FAITH?
"Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God." Romans 10:17
The people asked Jesus, "What must we do to do the works God requires?" Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the One He has sent." John 6:28, 29
WHO IS THE ONE GOD HAS SENT?
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son." John 3:16-18
WHAT DID THE SON DO FOR US TO BELIEVE?
The Apostle Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4: "Now brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures."
Paul further said in Romans 1:16, 17: "I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: 'The righteous will live by faith.'"
IT IS FAITH, NOT WORKS, THAT SAVES US FOR ETERNITY
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:8-10
FAITH IN JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY TO HEAVEN
Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6 "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12
DO YOU BELIEVE JESUS DIED FOR YOUR SINS?
HAVE YOU ACCEPTED HIM AS YOUR SAVIOR?
Today is the day of salvation. Tomorrow might be too late.

THE DIRECTOR'S CORNER
I often struggle with the choice between "what will people think" and "what's more important." Recently I was dropping someone off in front of a house in the city. I couldn't help but notice the newly painted white picket fence in the front yard ... and the generous white paint on the sidewalk in front of it. In another life, my first reaction would have been, "Why didn't they put a drop cloth down first? Everyone's going to see that sloppy work." Instead (I'm glad to say), my first thought was "This lady must have allowed her grandkids to paint the fence," giving them the valuable experience of worth and trust.
It took me back to a time in my childhood when I was 12. We had just been given some green paint and I wanted to paint something. My mother "couldn't think" of anything in the house that needed painting, but she said I could paint the outhouse. I went right to work -- the outside, the inside, even the seat was shiny green. She thought it looked good. I'm 59 and I still love to paint.
